Cali is doing well....

It is so nice to hear from Caillee's puppies. Cali, from Toronto, the spitting image of her mom Caillee, sent us a little update.
Cali is doing fine and is enjoying the good life of being pampered and loved. Cali wonders if Caillee and I might be making a trip to Toronto some time soon. I don't know Cali. You and your mom are always welcomed to come down our way, now that we live so much closer than before.
Caillee sends her love and kisses. Caillee also says to share your toys with the other doggies. Moms!

The Tale of a Chocolate Chip Cookie Thief

Not long ago, Caillee was a sneaky little girl.

I went to the back door and called the girls to the back yard. Josie came right away, I thought that was a bit odd since it is usually Caillee who always beats Josie to the back door. Turns out that Caillee was trying to steal food from my bowl I left on the coffee table, I didn't see her, I couldn't see her from where I was, just heard the fork clang against the bowl and I immediately told Caillee to leave it and with disappointment she dropped it.

Oh that sneaky girl I thought. Waited until I was out of sight to steal food.

She now went outside to do her business. Hubby came out to join us since it was so nice out. Caillee immediately wanted to go back inside the house. We both didn't think it was odd, Caillee often prefers the climate control sofa.

From outside the window, hubby and I watched Caillee pushed the door open, walk to the sofa, walk past the sofa and got her two front paws on the coffee table and grabbed a large chocolate chip cookie....

I yelled "Leave it".

Hubby ran towards house.

Caillee dropped the cookie cold and ran from the scene of the crime.

Get off the Computer!

Caillee says that we all need to turn off your computer and spend some time with your dog. Ok, perhaps Caillee is just telling me to get off the computer already and give her some more love and attention.

Allergy ruling could lead to ban on pets in airplane cabins

Allergy ruling could lead to ban on pets in airplane cabins

I am getting so tired of Air Canada's push to get rid of pet in their cabins. With or without a pet, Air Canada is so unfriendly and so unhelpful. Since Air Canada's ban of pets in the cabin back in September 2006, I have personally boycotted their Airline and have only flown with Westjet.

Has anyone priced out shipping your dog lately (in cargo)? It is mere fortune to travel with your pets. And of course, Air Canada asks the most money above any other airline to ship your pet.

If more and more people would boycott Air Canada, just maybe they might get the hint that they need service our wants and not what is most continent for them.

A Time of Remembrance....

Today should be a time of remembrance of the soldiers who fought for my freedoms and safety and for those who continue to do so today. Not to diminish any of their great sacrifice but today has another meaning for me as well.

Today marks the one year anniversary to my Hyacinth’s death. Hyacinth, Ch. Hydabrek’s Hyacinth Bucket, was a beautiful championed Havanese awarded with many Best Puppy in Show rosettes , Best Puppy in Group rosettes, and I have totally lost count in the number of Best of Breed ribbons she won. She was my first breed champion and I had so many plans for her in the show, obedience, and Rally-O ring. All these dreams I had for her are all gone.

Hyacinth’s life ended so young by a Chinese Shar Pei owned by Professional Show Handler who was responsible for her care and well-being. I am angry. I am angry she is gone along with all the dreams I had for her. I am angry she is not beside me on the sofa. I am angry how this Professional Show Handler has treated me since her death.

I AM ANGRY.
