Prep time: 1 hour
1 c Whole wheat flour
1 c All-purpose flour
1 c Milk (skim)
1⁄3 c Melted meat fat (beef, lamb, or bacon)
1 Egg (lightly beaten)
1 c Water (cold)
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Drizzle the dry ingredients with melted fat add egg and water.
- Mix well.
- On a floured surface, roll out dough to ½ inch thickness.
- Cut with dog bone cutters.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes or until dark Brown and crisp.
- Makes about 30 biscuits
