What 's ya' doing on the Floor Caillee?

It's bed time, it's dark, and everyone is tired.
In a baby voice, Hubby looks down on the floor and says "What's ya' doing on the floor Caillee?"
Hubby pats the bed giving Caillee the signal to jump up, "come on up"
"Who ya' talking to?"
"Caillee", Hubby replies, "she's just sleeping on the floor".
"Caillee is beside me." Hubby reaches down to touch to discover his pants he left on the floor.

Sonny Tougas National Bursary Program

I had no idea there was a Maurice (Sonny) Tougas National Bursary Program, what a wonderful idea to honour this man and all the life long work he has done with pure breed dogs. He was an all-breed judge for many years and later taught show handling classes. He died last year after battling a sudden illness.

I just found out about it today when I read somewhere a young lady in Hamilton Ontario won this year's bursary and is also the first to receive this bursary. Apparently the committee's decision was hard.

I knew him from the show handling classes. He taught me how to exhibit my dog(s) in the show ring: first with Caillee and me, and then Hyacinth and me.

He is and will always be missed by everyone in the dog conformation world.

Honouring the Working Dogs of 9/11

Today we honour in our hearts all the lives lost during the disaster of 9/11: the innocent; the rescuers; ones who were just trying to go about their day; and all those who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Some may not realize that many working rescue dogs who worked along side all the rescuers during this dark time died after their exposure to all the toxins they were exposed too.

These four legged rescuers are our heros too. May we also remember them.
