Friends Forever: Lilli and EJay

Togetherness

Lilli's very bestest friend in the whole dog world was a Pug, EJ. She lived right next door... They would play for hours, sleep together (boy did that girl snore!)... I loved seeing them together.

Sadly, EJ's owner died so she had to move away to another state. .Lilli made many trips to EJ’s door to find her. She has not 'found' such a great 'soul mate' since.... very sad for Lilli and me... probably EJ also. So your video of Caillee and Daisy playing together brought back many happy memories and some sadness too.

Reflection and photos submitted by Karen B.

Thanks for sharing.

Two dogs playing together outside (Havanese and a Pug)

Here is Caillee (Havanese) and her friend Daisy (Pub) playing together in the back yard. They looked like they were having great fun running around.

This was taken a few months ago when the grass was still green and there wasn't a thick layer of snow everywhere.

This morning, I walked the cat.

That’s right, you read correctly.

Actually I haven’t done that in a very long time. This sort of thing would usually happen around summer time when it’s still warm out. The cat would follow us around the neighborhood when we, my husband and I or even just one of us, would take Josie for a walk.

He would meow during the whole trip; we would sometimes, especially around busier areas, slow down and wait for him catch up otherwise we would just keep on trekking. We would never worry whether he would get lost or not, he always seemed to be able to find his way back home.

During our walk this morning with Caillee, Josie, and the cat, I thought about why today the cat following us struck me as so strange. He has followed usin the past, but not lately. Why was that?

Caillee - that must be the change. Caillee arrived at our home about two summers ago and I do believe that is most likely when the cat stopped following us around for walks. I don’t think it is because he dislikes Caillee; I think Caillee wears him out. He might finally get some rest when she is out…. That must be it.

My husband lost my dog!

A friend of mine was over enjoying a good get together when my husband inparts one of his stories. He tells us that he lost Josie last Friday night while taking photos at a near by clearing.

"YOU LOST MY DOG!" I yelled. "Why didn't you tell me, then, that night?"

"I did. You might have been slightly sleepy when I mentioned it."

"Well, how did you get her back."

When my husband was finished taking photos, he called for Josie and she normally returns when called. This time, nothing. He had a flash light, and he could not find her. He called, and she would not come. He search high and low, and still no Josie.

When went home to face the music and to get some help in finding her. He was nearly home when he could hear Josie's unique bark faintly in the distance. Sure enough it was Josie, at the back door, barking to get into the house.

What luck; and proof that Josie may be a little smarter than the average pooch.

Caillee is getting the floors wet after her bath

Here is an old video I found of Caillee and Josie. Caillee had just taken a bath and is now running around the house with her long wet hair. Josie joined in on the action.

Caillee as a puppy exploring the kitchen.....

Here is Caillee a day or two after her arrival to our home. She is explorring her her home when she decides that it is time for a tiny potty break. She is about four months in this video and she still is a cute as a button as she was then; and can hold it.

Here is Caillee (as a puppy) playing with Josie in the living room. Caillee is about four months in this video and she still has just about the same amount of engery. Look at Josie's hair, isn't it so long and nice looking.

Dog peels and eats Banana

Here is a video of Josie peeling and eating a banana. Honestly, if there wasn't this video to prove it I wouldn't blame for not beleiving me. She actually peeled this banana herself. Mind you she did not eat much of the banada and just left the mess on my bed.... that's Josie for you.

Bye, keep hiking....

Guess who has their own blog site!

The house cat of all animals has their own website.  Who would ever want to hear from him?  Who would ever want to hear from an old bat of a cat.  Never usually talks to us… goes off mumbling to himself.  What a maroon!

Josie.

Mommy bought me new hair pieces

I have new purple hair pieces in my hair, they look very lovely in my hair.  Mommy seems to know just want to get me.  Now if I can get rid of Caillee, to have the whole house to myself, things would be just perfect.

Caillee is at the Wheat City Kennel Club show in Brandon Manitoba

Caillee is out with her professional handler this weekend at the Wheat City Kennel Club show in Brandon Manitoba.

While she is out here, Josie and I are wasting away our morning in bed though the thought of breakfast may gets us both out of bed.

I need to deposit a cheque this morning and I could take the long way. Josie loves it when I take the long way. It consists of us not taking the car but walking all the way down to the bank. I often use the instant teller machines but Josie loves it when I have to see a real teller and most of the tellers don’t mind. Josie is often referred to as a ‘banking dog’ by the tellers. The attention!

Ruff Ruff

Josie and I found the funniest blog today. It was all about a dog named Freddie and what he had to say. It was pictures and Freddie's comments, mostly ruff, ruffs. It was so cute. Josie seemed to understand though she wouldn't discuss the mater with me.

Does your home have a magical word?

Does your home have a magical word?

What kind of words would get a hearts beating faster and blood pumping harder? Just the mere hint gets ears perks, eyes staring carefully, and tails at the ready.

Say it and chaos starts with tails wagging vigorously in the air; paws jumping for joy; and smiles from ear to ear.

“I am going for a walk now, anyone care to join me?” Ruff Ruff!

Caillee trys out Therapy Dog work

Mom called the nursing home to see if a ban was lifted from the floor mom says Josie visits for when Josie is out being a therapy dog. Mom says that the nurse really wanted to see me since she says mom talks about me.

Mom filled her pockets with treats and put colourful ruffled collars on us. She said that the clown hats might be too much for her to keep on both us on at once. Sure thing, I wouldn’t want to wear a hat; especially one with purple pom-poms on them.

Long before we arrived, Josie knew exactly where we were going and she was getting all excited. Her excitement was getting me all excited; I could hardly keep still anymore either.

When we arrived, Josie kept trying to encourage mom to get in the building faster and mom wanted to walk slowly making sure we both had time to sniff anything interesting and give us both the opportunity to go to the bathroom if we needed. Josie peed at every tree and I peed right after her, we marked the place real good.

Even before we got to the door, we had people stopping and petting us. All the way up to Josie’s floor, we had people stop and give us tons of attention.

When we got there, we got to spend time with so many people. Some would pet us on our heads while some would give us a treat that mom had just handed them. The staff had way more energy and kept us on our toes by chasing us, rubbing our tummies, and giving us treats.

I love this place, could we go again, mom?

Update on Daisy

Janelle and Tim sent me an update on how Miss Daisy was doing. This is Caillee and Josie's Pug friend in Winnipeg.

Janelle writes:
"
She's in-heat right now ... She's so miserable it's cute. I took home the digital camera from work 'cause I wanted to take pictures of her in her Halloween costume, but changed my mind since she's already quite traumatized about her voyage to womanhood. We'll try again next year. "

Well Daisy, I hope you are feeling better soon, Caillee is in heat too and she understands what you are going through. Both Josie and Caillee send doggie-kisses your way.

Love,
Doggie mom and

Josie's thoughts for October 31

I had so much fun helping mommy hand out candy to all the kids. The only thing was I didn't get to eat from mom's loot of candies. I thought that was very rude. Mommy even had doggie cookies for all the four legged halloweeners like me.

I wore an orange and black color with gems at the ends - Mommy says that it's so me. I think she may be right, I do have a bit of a sparkling personality. Caillee was wearing a black and orange colour too but it had bells - she looked like a court jester. I however looked like the royal court jester, a cut above the regular court jesters you see.
